As iron sharpnes iron so does so does one man sharpen another
I helped a man climb a mountain, thinking the whole time that I was only there for him. I focused on steadying his steps, pushing him through his doubts, and making sure he did not give up halfway. But when we reached the top, I realized something I had not noticed along the way. I had climbed the same mountain. His struggle became my struggle, his progress pulled me forward, and without even realizing it, I had grown alongside him. That is the thing about helping people. We assume it is a selfless act, something done at our own expense. But it rarely works that way.
When you invest in someone else’s growth, you inevitably grow too. When you push someone through their excuses, you hear the same echoes in yourself. When you remind someone they are capable, you start to believe it a little more as well. Lifting someone else is not a sacrifice of your own journey, it is part of it. Too often we think life is a solo climb, but some of the highest peaks you will ever reach are the ones you arrive at while helping someone else reach theirs. And when you look back, you see clearly that the climb was never just theirs or yours, it was both all along.
When you lift someone else up, you just don't help them, you remind yourself of your strength.
Encouraging, supporting, or supporting others doesn't just change their life, It sharpns your purpose, fuels your discipline and gives your pain meaning
The energy you give out other is the energy comes back. Build others and you build yourself.
